Palabras al Viento (Alice Mascarenhas)

Palabras al Viento (Alice Mascarenhas)

From 1965 to 1970 in a period of just five years 260 Palabras al Viento would have been recorded by Manolo Mascarenhas in Studio B at Radio Gibraltar on Wellington Front. Of these just over 50 have survived. This book includes 48 of them.

The Palabras al Viento delivered the words with which he defended Gibraltar and the Gibraltarians at a difficult period in the life of this community when faced with the barrage of lies and insults of the anti-Gibraltar Spanish Campaign which began to take hold as early as 1963. Manolo Mascarenhas was a very Gibraltarian voice in Gibraltar's cause, and the people made his words theirs.
This book also features his other writings in Gibraltar newspapers from 1946 to 1972 as a long established journalist who covered all aspects of Gibraltar life. He entered the world of broadcasting in 1958 on radio and later on television, and in 1973 became GBC's General Manager having headed both News and Production on both radio and television since 1963.
