Me Acuerdo: Memories of Gibraltar's Old Town (Rebecca Fa)

'Memories of the Old Town' is a Gibraltar Heritage Trust oral history project that began back in February 2024 when the Trust put out a call for older generations to come forward and be interviewed about growing up in Gibraltar's Old Town from the 1950's to 1970's. These interviews have been transcribed for publication and feature in this book as a record of living memory and the language spoken by older generations of Gibraltarians. The stories shared are a collective memory of Gibraltar at the time and include topical themes of patio life, community, culture, tradition, and Llanito identity, all of which form part of our intangible heritage. This project collaborated with artists from The Rock Retreat with a Sketch Safari being held in Gibraltars Old Town to form part of the artwork for this book and bring the stories to life.
